Google recently announced the release of its new Search Algorithm – Hummingbird. It is said that this has been a huge change( or rather a new search algorithm altogether), which may make some bloggers get worried as they may see drop in traffic.
The thing I have heard from bloggers is that they are worried that all their previous SEO work would be a waste as this new search algorithm may ask for other strategies. I would like to tell these bloggers that Google still maintains the same quality guidelines but has just change how it uses them.So the following articles to get more traffic through Google will still help you out -
So lets get into some information about the Hummingbird Algorithm…..
Google has announced that the Hummingbird algorithm will affect over 90% of the search results. This means that pretty much all search results have been affected by the new Google search algorithm, so you can see that this is not just an update to the Google Search Algo, but a whole new one.
As I said before, the same quality guidelines set up by Google still hold good, so If you have not been dwelling into anything blackhat, then your blog will be fine according to me.
If you haven’t noticed a drop in blog traffic by now, then you can rest assured that your blog has not been affected much.
Although Google only officially announced that the Hummingbird algorithm change in the last couple of days, they say that the algorithm had already been in place for over a month, which is why I said that if your blog has not been affected by it already, then you are probably safe, for now
Definitely not. Google has said that PageRank is still a part of the algorithm. So our discussion on PageRank being cancelled comes to a conclusion.

Panda And Penguin are like a slice of a pie, while the Hummingbird is like a whole pie. Panda and Penguin were small Google search algorithm updates which affected less than 5% of all search results, while the Hummingbird is a whole new algorithm and affects over 90% of the search results.
No. As I said above, we will keep seeing Panda and Penguin updates to the main algorithm as they make necessary and small changes to make the main algorithm better which in turn produces better search results.
So these are all the important stuff you need to know about the Hummingbird algorithm, if there is anything more you need to know, please let me know in the comments section, I will try to answer them
